Heather & Raquelle doing a recording session for our upcoming CD "Joyful Harps Yesteryear"
Recording nearly done!
As of this date, we only have one recording session left! Our new recording engineer has made the recording process very smooth and easy for us. We appreciate his help! The only challenging part is to be creative enough to come up with 18 new song arrangements to record! :-)
We are now in the process of working on the cover and inside photos, designing the CD cover and traycard, and doing the last bits of editing and mastering on the music.
Sneak Preview
Our new Yesteryear CD will be featuring a cross-section of music from the 1800s. For hymn lovers, we have worked on some old favorites such as Be Thou My Vision, Balm In Gilead and the hauntingly beautiful original tune for Come Ye Sinners. If you like War Between the States music, we've got a great selection for you - The Yellow Rose of Texas, Wait for the Wagon, The Young Volunteer, and more! Those who like the good old-time folk songs and melodies will enjoy Going Home (from Dvorak's New World Symphony), When You And I Were Young Maggie, and Beautiful Dreamer.
And as a special treat (we hope! :-)) we will be including, for the first time ever, two recordings of our own original compositions!
We are excited about this CD and hope y'all will enjoy the music as much as we have!

Linda Sue got married...

Linda Sue Phillips of Augusta, Georgia and Gregory Craven of Charleston, South Carolina were married June 26, 2005 in Santee, South Carolina.  The wedding was held in the high style of the 1860's with the bride wearing a lovely Civil War era reproduction gown.  The bride fired the couples cannon, named the Linda Sue, at the celebration after the wedding.  The groom also fired The Dixie, a cannon that belongs to Fergusons Light Artillery of South Carolina.

Article about Jeannie Rucker's Great-Grand Uncle written by her husband, Dr. Chris Rucker, appears in Civil War Times Magazine this month.

Chris Rucker's article about Jeannie's Great Grand Uncle, James Alley Jenks, is now published in the April 2005 issue of Civil War Times. Jeannie's relative was a solider, a preacher and a poet. He is shown in the photo above with his bible.
